Step by step Structure analysis and Design guideline

Steps in Structural Design Hello friends, I have experienced design of RCC Structure and STEEL Structure. Design step/stage is different in RCC and Steel Structure. In this blog I will share you step involve in RCC Residential or Commercial Structures. Following are main Step involve in design of RCC Structure.
1. Structure planning as per Architectural planning
In this step we need to finalize position of Column/footing, Orientation of Column/footings, main beam arrangement, and secondary beam arrangement, Slab panning, stair layout, water tanks and lift room positions etc…
The basic principle of structure planning is that the loads should be transferred to the foundation along the shortest path.
2. Application of loads
All dead load and live load need to consider while analyze structure. Generally Wall loads, floor finish load, furniture Loads, occupancy loads etc...
3. Load Combination as per Design guideline
Based on design codes structure should be deign for different expected load combinations
4. Wind and Seismic Load Application
Wind and seismic loads are differ from location to location, Type and shape of buildings etc.. So based on that we have to considered wind loads and Seismic loads.
5. Methods of Analysis
Static analysis need to carried out of RCC Residential Structure. Also design Column for Axial loads action, design slab for member action, Design beam for bending action etc..
6. Structure Design
Structure design include design of Foundation, Column, Beams, Slabs etc..
7. Detailing, Drawing and preparation of bar schedules
We have to prepare detail drawing as per our calculations. This is very important drawing/activities because ultimately site worker will work based on the drawing only.
